Remember this guy from Led Zepplin’s IV album cover?
Well we all felt like that guy at the French & Moose Creek Restoration Willow Cutting Project.
So if you see this guy, Regan Dean, FWP Game Warden, let him know he looks just like the guy on the Led Zepplin Album Cover, right?
We had 21 Volunteers to help us. Good, solid, hard working folks who all want to help the resource. IT’S FOR THE FISH!!!
And you know what? WE CUT 12,000 WILLOW STAKES !! Holy cow that’s a lot. And your Executive Board did their best because IT’S FOR THE FISH.

It was a lot of fun, some great conversations, lots of information. It’s one of those deals where we got more out of it than we put into it. But it was work, for sure.
One pretty funny thing that happened was Rebecca brought her 3 dogs, but one of the dogs was a goat, but the goat didn’t know she was a goat. She was actually a “doat”. And you know what that “doat” thought? The “doat” thought those other dogs had funny sounding barks.
Jim Olson, FWP Fisheries Biologist put all this together. We cut the willows, put them in bundles of 50 and took them down to a culvert to soak in the water until next fall when they’ll be put into French Creek in it’s newly restored channel. This volunteer effort saved about $25,000 towards this important restoration. It’s a big deal and it was a lot of fun to be part of it.
The next time you see Jim let him know what a great job he’s doing because he is….. doing a great job. Thanks Jim.
