In 1926, the Butte Anglers Club, in coordination with Anaconda, Dillon and other interested parties, raised 8,486,000 trout in the State and Columbia Gardens hatcheries planting them in lakes, creeks and rivers throughout Southwest Montana.
Specifically they planted 1,500,000 Rainbows, 1,516,000 Natives, 220,000 Brookies, and a whopping 5,250,000 Greyling.
Organized in 1902 there were 15 seats on the board committee. The club peaked at 2593 members in 1925 and operated on a budget of $3844.76 from donations and dues that year.
